Meet The Guides Leading KEYS

While KEYS is comprised of 20 students from across the county, five from each of the four school districts, the work they do is supported and guided by adult volunteers and staff members, called Guides. Each high school brings one volunteer Guide, and the group also has the support of two KCCF staff members, Amy and Kendra.

Jerid Stoffel is the Guide for Wawasee. He is a school counselor and has been a KEYS Guide for the past two years. He enjoys seeing students from different schools working together to better their community.

Sarah Wallen is the Guide for Warsaw. She is a school counselor for the class of 2025 and has also been a KEYS Guide for the past two years. She has really enjoyed “watching the students take on leadership roles and challenge themselves to share their unique perspectives, even if their opinion goes against the norm.”

Joe Jackson is the Guide for Lakeland Christian Academy. He is the school’s Director of Campus Life and, like Jerid and Sarah, has been a KEYS Guide for the past two years. He likes meeting and engaging with new students from other schools.

Sherrill Hamman is the Guide for Tippecanoe Valley. She works as an administrative assistant in the school’s administrative office and is an experienced KEYS Guide, serving for the past six years. She enjoys “connecting with the students and seeing them mature and grow.” She also enjoys watching them serve the community and be passionate about grantmaking.

Amy Cannon is a KEYS Navigator, meaning an on-staff Guide. She works at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation as the Senior Program Officer and has been the Navigator for ten years. She likes “watching the KEYS members grow and become confident leaders during their five years in the program”.

Kendra Fisher is also a KEYS Navigator. She is the Program Administrative Assistant at the Community Foundation. She has been working with KEYS as a staff member for almost 2 years, but she also was a KEYS member in middle and high school. KEYS was a huge gift in her life, and she finds watching the current KEYS members all grow and change and make the program their own to be so fulfilling and rewarding. She loves hearing about the challenges and passions of their generation in the discussions they have.
