Brendyn was a Sophomore at Tippecanoe Valley High School where he excelled in academics and athletics – enjoying both basketball and baseball. After Brendyn tragically passed away as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident, his many friends and the community-at-large demonstrated their love for Brendyn in numerous ways. The establishment of this scholarship fund serves as another way to remember and honor Brendyn. The scholarship will assist Tippecanoe Valley High School seniors who have participated in high school athletics and who demonstrate excellent character and financial need with pursuing their college, university, or vocational education.

Specifically, this fund supports graduating high school seniors from Pierceton or Washington Township in Kosciusko County. The scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in education, or electrical, electronic or digital technology – career paths which reflect the interests of both Dave and Diana Reinhart. Dave Reinhart was a self-taught electronics technician and life-long innovator and entrepreneur. Diana held a master’s degree in Elementary Education and taught at Pierceton Elementary School.

It is awarded to male students who attended Edgewood Middle School with preference given to those interested in Information Technology, Veterinary Science, or Automotive Studies.

Established by Fay Thorn. Pete and Fay were longtime teachers in the Warsaw Community School system. Pete was the first athlete at Wabash College to win 16 letters in four sports. He was the founder and initial director of Baker Boys Club, and was named Warsaw’s first Man of the Year in 1959.

Together, Rick and April have generously supported many charitable projects in Indiana, including in Warsaw and Winona Lake.

Rob was a 16-year-old junior at Warsaw High School, and died from a head injury suffered during football practice. Rob was a member of the Methodist Church, was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Explorer’s Club. This fund provides scholarships to Kosciusko County students.

Created by Florence Gilliam Clark in tribute to her parents, Robert and Emma Gilliam, to aid area students in obtaining higher education. Robert owned a lumber business in Leesburg and was active in civic affairs and the Masonic Lodge. Emma was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, and a parishioner of Leesburg Methodist Church.

Established by Thomas R. and Anne Marie Walter to provide college scholarships. Tom and Anne participated in many community activities including Warsaw Presbyterian Church and Warsaw Rotary Club. For many years they owned Walter Drug Store.

They were only 28 years old when they died in an auto accident. The scholarship is granted to a student graduating from Wawasee High School and attending Indiana University in Bloomington.

Established by Dean and Debra Zentz. The fund provides scholarships to varsity soccer athletes from Warsaw Community High School who plan to pursue higher education and are community-service minded. Dean and Debra have spent their lives in service to others. Debra is a crafter and artist who loves gifting her creations to others. Dean served on boards of Kosciusko County Youth Soccer and United Way of Kosciusko County. He also coached youth soccer, little league baseball and basketball for many years. Soccer holds a special place in Dean’s heart having played for most of his life.
