Free Full-Day Preschool Available for Low-Income Families

Kosciusko County Community Foundation is pleased to support a pilot preschool program for local four-year-olds from low-income families. The program begins in January 2018 and offers free, full-day preschool.

United Way of Kosciusko County applied for the State of Indiana’s pilot On My Way Pre-K program this past spring. The application included a grant commitment from the Community Foundation of $10,000 to expand preschool in Kosciusko County.

Currently, preschools in Warsaw, Mentone, North Webster, Milford and Syracuse are participating in the program.

In order to be eligible, a child must have turned 4-years-old on or after August 1, 2017, and the family must:

·         Have all parents in the home either working or attending school (does not need to be full-time)

·         Meet income requirements (see chart below)

Additionally, children in foster homes are eligible and their foster family’s income is not considered.

If you or someone you know would like to enroll a child in the preschool program, enroll online at www.onmywayprek.org, call 800-299-1627 or call 2-1-1.
