The Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s deadline for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship application will be on September 15, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. Kosciusko County high school seniors in the top 20% of their graduating class are invited to apply. A link to the online application will be available on the foundation’s website at www.KCFoundation.org/Scholarships on August 1. Guidance counselors will also have a link to the application to share with eligible applicants.
Applicants are encouraged to have taken the SAT or ACT exam prior to their application.
In Kosciusko County, the Kosciusko County Community Foundation recommends two recipients of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship to Independent Colleges of Indiana for final selection. The local process is “blind” in that committee members do not have access to student names when reviewing applications. Consideration for the scholarship is given to academics, community services, extracurricular involvement, work experience, references and essay responses.
The scholarships provide four-year, full-tuition to the recipients to attend their Indiana college or university of choice, and are a result of a statewide Lilly Endowment initiative to help Hoosier students reach higher levels of education.
The deadline for all other traditional Community Foundation scholarships is March 15, 2018. Information about those opportunities can be found at www.KCFoundation.org/Scholarships.
Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community. The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
