Community Funds
Community Fund Grants are awarded based on a competitive grant application process. Nonprofit organizations serving Kosciusko County are eligible to apply in one of seven areas of interest: education, health, recreation, arts & culture, civic projects, the environment, and human services. Grant applications are due March 1, July 1, and November 1 of each year. Decisions are made based on the Decision Timeline shown below.

To access the grant application portal, click the button below. The first time you apply, the Community Foundation staff will need to create a user login for you. Please reach out to us for assistance.
Grant seekers are required to contact Alex Hall (alex@kcfoundation.org), vice president of programs, to set up a time to discuss your proposal prior to submitting a formal application online.

*What financial documents should I include with my application?
You will need to upload your organization’s most recent Statement of Activities and Statement of Financial Position. Examples of both documents are below. Your organization’s most recent 990 is also requested, but not required.
FORMS FOR GRANT RECIPIENTS
Payment request should be submitted through the online grant portal after the grant has been approved.
DECISION TIMELINE
Weeks 1-5 after application deadline: Staff reviews applications that have been received for eligibility and completion. Staff may follow up with applicant with any clarifying questions that the Grant Committee may have.
Weeks 6-9 after deadline: Grant Committee receives applications to review and meets to discuss recommendations to be sent to the Community Foundations board of directors for approval.
Weeks 10-11 after deadline: The board reviews the Grant Committee’s recommendations and final decisions are made. Letters are mailed within one week of the board’s decision to notify applicants. Grant agreements are included with the letter for approved requests.
